Put some warmth and classic tone in your guitar! More body, fuller tone and letting the subtleties of your pickups come through, that is what to expect with the BCS Vintage. This kit is a complete electrical replacement for any Les Paul, LP copy or any guitar with a standard LP layout that uses the short shaft pots*. We use only high grade components in our kits to bring out optimum performance. (Click Here for info on our components) The Vintage LP kit is wired to Gibsons 50’s wiring schematic and uses 500K CTS pots made for MOJO and gauranteed they will be within 10% tolerance, Switchcraft Switch and jack, Vitamin T oil filled capacitors, and vintage 18 gauge cloth covered shielded wire. For no additional cost you can have volume mods added to your kit to keep your guitars presence up when dialing down the volume. This option does change the taper of the volume control a little bit in that the volume drops about 50% by the time your knob is turned between 6 & 7 and then the taper smooths out more (All photos of the Vintage series are shown with the optional volume mods). The Gibson option of this kit replaces the short shaft pots with the long shaft pots that are needed for the thick arch top on most Gibson Les Pauls. The pots are still 500K, made by CTS for MOJO and are guaranteed to be within 10% tolerance. It also replaces the short shaft switch with a long shaft Switchcraft switch.
The unassembled version of this kit comes with everything the assembled kit does including heat shrink, an assembly template and assembly instructions can be downloaded or printed. We also include 8 feet of shielded wire just in case you make a mistake and need a little extra. Be aware that if your volume and tone pot holes are not 3/8″ in diameter then you will need to open them up for the new pots to fit. Don’t worry this is easier than it sounds and a step by step is included in the instructions. *NOTE: The wiring harness is built to standard Gibson and Epiphone length. If the measured distance from your switch to your volume pots is more than 12″, or from your switch to your output jack is more than 18″ you will need to send us the actual measurements from your guitar so the wiring harness will be built to the proper length. For example, we have had to build a harness for a Tokai Love Rock with an additional 2 inches on all the leads for it to fit correctly.
